While in Sydney, we thought we would do something different and visit Madame Tussauds which is located at Darling Harbour near the heart of Sydney.
We were excited to be going as we had seen some pictures online and thought it would be a cool experience. We ordered tickets online as it was a fair bit cheaper from $40 to $28 if you pre purchase. The only problem with this was when we turned up to enter we still had to stand in huge line (in the rain) to collect our tickets. I thought why have pre purchase if you just can't enter with the proof you have on your phone? Or even just have barcodes they can scan. We finally got inside to be so disappointed! There were not many figures to actually see and some that were advertised on their promotions were not even there! Some of them looked like the better looking younger fitter versions of themselves others were just a plain old mess. There were only really a couple where it was uncanny likeness. The place also felt really disjointed and almost rushed. For what we paid there was very little you got from it. I would probably give this a miss. Much better things to spend your money on.

On a recent trip to Sydney we discovered The Butler Sydney a relatively new haunt for Sydneysiders.
We were looking for somewhere we could have lunch in a relaxed setting, hopefully outdoors with amazing food and cocktails and we found it! The Butler is on Victoria Street in Potts Point so not too far from Kings Cross station. The menu is unique and delicious! Often as a vegetarian I don't find a lot of selection on most menus. Here I found enough delicious morsels to satisfy my hunger. The cocktails (namely the Espresso Martini) are amazing! We tried several on the list and all were refreshing and well made and presented beautifully. The place can get busy (especially people wanting to sit out on the verandah over looking the City) so it may be best to book and mention where you would like too be seated. The prices are pretty normal for a nice establishment. And having lunch will not break your budget. One of my favourite dishes was the Baby cos, pear, candied pecans, seeded mustard vinaigrette salad. The candied pecans were to die for! This is a must do if you visit Sydney, We definitely will look forward to returning when next in town. |
